We assist businesses and stakeholders in getting information regarding technical regulations, standards and conformity assessment procedures of WTO members.

You can contact us at TBT@sirim.my for enquiries related to standards, technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures that are in force in Malaysia in other WTO member countries.

Handle foreign notification – We provide businesses and interested organisations opportunity to review and comment on notifications of other members which can affect their trade interests, by facilitating the access of TBT Notifications to the national stakeholders. All WTO TBT notifications are disseminated to national stakeholders via a free, web-based e-mail registration service known as E ping Alert System, e-Ping.  You may subscribe to the e-Ping here

Handling Malaysian notification – We assist Malaysia’s regulators in drafting and submitting notification on proposed technical regulations to WTO to ensure Malaysia’s obligations to TBT Agreement are met.  Regulators can contact us at TBT@sirim.my for advice and assistance in notification process.

Technical support to the national TBT committee – We provide support and updates to National TBT Committee on matters relating to the implementation of TBT Agreement and Operation of TBT Enquiry Point
